The Frame Dance Youth Ensemble provides students from 3.5 to 13 years old the opportunity to experience dance in a context that values the individual and the creative process. The program is dedicated to high-quality technical training within a non-competitive environment and offers access to masterclasses in costume design, photography, repertoire, anatomy, dance history, and yoga for the older students, by leading professionals. Our curriculum caters to each student’s strengths and is designed to encourage creative expression and a positive body image. The program exposes and connects students to Frame Dance’s professional company and the Multigenerational Framers, our community ensembleWe are a nurturing, adventurous, and dynamic setting for students who seek either sheer enjoyment or the more serious pursuit of becoming an advanced artist.

Please note that Frame Dance classes will not be in session during the week of Thanksgiving or the week of Houston ISD’s spring break. Frame Dance will also observe all weather related closings posted by Houston ISD.

Ensemble Prep

Ages: 3-5 years (without a parent)

About: This class focuses on motor skill development, age-appropriate creative decision-making, and musicality. Through movement instruction, imagination, games, and props, little dancers explore space and motion as they develop awareness and confidence as movers.

Dance Ensemble 1

About: At this level, dancers are offered a cohesive education of modern dance and ballet techniques, rehearsal, and performance. Ensemble I students hone their technique while continuing to grow creatively, collaborate with others, and learn choreography for performance.  Though this class focuses more intensely on technique, we encourage our students to develop creatively, and help them find and articulate their own artistic voices.
