We offer Houstonians a safe place to explore creativity and experience challenging, artful, and undiluted modern dance. And we do it with an unmatched quality, spirited optimism, and inclusive welcome.

  • Lydia Hance

    Lydia Hance

    Founder and Artistic Director

    Lydia Hance is the Founder Artistic Director of Frame Dance. She has been named an Emerging Leader by Dance/USA and has led Frame Dance in performances from the Galveston pier onto the METRO light rail, in the backs of U Haul trucks, downtown tunnels, and into museums, stages, and warehouses for the past ten years. A champion of new music composers, her work deepens interdisciplinary and multigenerational collaborations, and investigates the placement of dance in our lives. She is a choreographer, curator, filmmaker, educator, and dance writer who passionately believes dance should be a part of our every day lives. She holds degrees in Dance Performance and English Literature from SMU and trained at the Taylor School, Graham School, Tisch School of the Arts, Limon Institute and SMU.

  • Cori Capetillo

    Cori Capetillo

    Director of Operations

    Cori Capetillo graduated with her B.F.A. in Dance from the University of Texas at Austin; she is an arts administrator having worked at notable organizations like Dance New Amsterdam, Danspace Project, Hope Stone Inc, and Vitacca Vocational School of Dance. Her work has been presented by Big Range Dance Festival, Houston Fringe Festival, Choreographers X6, 12 Minutes Max, Barnstorm Dance Festival, Vitacca Dance Project and Dance Houston. Currently, she is the Director of Programs and Production for Frame Dance Productions while teaching freelance.

  • Ashley Horn

    Ashley Horn

    Teacher and Collaborator

    Ashley Horn is a dancer, choreographer, filmmaker, costume designer, and artist from the Houston area. She is Frame Dance’s costume designer, set collaborator, and a founding dancer. She is also a teacher in the early childhood dance classes at Frame Dance.

  • Jennifer Mabus

    Jennifer Mabus

    Teacher

    Jennifer Mabus is a dance artist and educator, originally from and currently working in Texas. As a dancer, she has worked professionally with many wonderful choreographers in New York and Texas, most notably with Robert Battle (founding member of Battleworks Dance), Takehiro Ueyama, Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, Bruce Wood Dance, and Noble Motion Dance. She has been fortunate to teach at just about every level of dance, from children in educational outreach programs and arts magnet high schools to university dance programs and professional companies. She currently creates dances and performance art as an independent choreographer and as a core collaborator with the Transitory Sound and Movement Collective. She is also a certified yoga instructor.
