Based in modern dance technique and improvisation, this class welcomes beginners of all ages and advanced students who are looking to rejuvenate their creative practices. Leggings, sweat pants, t-shirts, and yoga tops are all great options. We dance barefoot. | The Frame Dance Youth Ensemble provides students from 3.5 to 13 years old the opportunity to experience dance in a context that values the individual and the creative process. The program is dedicated to high-quality technical training within a non-competitive environment and offers access to masterclasses in costume design, photography, repertoire, anatomy, dance history, and yoga for the older students, by leading professionals. Our curriculum caters to each student’s strengths and is designed to encourage creative expression and a positive body image. The program exposes and connects students to Frame Dance’s professional company and the Multigenerational Framers, our community ensemble. We are a nurturing, adventurous, and dynamic setting for students who seek either sheer enjoyment or the more serious pursuit of becoming an advanced artist. Please note that Frame Dance classes will not be in session during the week of Thanksgiving or the week of Houston ISD’s spring break. Class Dates: September 3, 2019 – December 16, 2019 and January 14 2020 – May 5, 2020

Class Description: Junior Framers (part of the Frame Dance Youth Ensemble) is built on a cohesive education of modern dance and ballet techniques, rehearsal, yoga, deep breathing, and performance. Junior Framers hone their technique while continuing to grow creatively, collaborate with others, and learn choreography for performance. As with our Little Framers, this class focuses more intensely on technique, but these students are also encouraged to develop creatively, and to find and articulate their own artistic voices.
Dress Code: Leggings and a form-fitted top or leotard and black tights. Boys: form fitted t-shirt or tank top and cotton or stretchy pants/shorts. This class is taken with soft ballet slippers and in bare feet. Hair must be pulled back, no loose jewelry.
Location: Monday and Tuesday classes will be held at Yogaleena Yoga Studio. Saturday classes will be held at River Oaks School of Dancing.

Mini Framers Dance Class is for ages 3.5-5 years (without a parent)
Weekly Class Time: Wednesdays @ 3:30 – 4:10 PM

Class Description: This may be your child’s first “big kid” dance class without a parent, and also serves as precursor to our Youth Ensemble. This fun class focuses on motor skill development, creativity, musicality, independence, and coordination. Through dance and the use of props, dancers will explore space through movement, and experience new independence and creative choices.
*Please note that ensemble classes are capped at 6 participants to ensure that students receive individual instruction.
Dress Code: Anything you can move in. We dance barefoot.

Class Description: Parent and child will bond in this fun class that focuses on motor skill development, creativity, musicality, and coordination. Through dance and the use of props, toddlers and young children will explore space through movement, and begin to learn to take direction from a teacher (other than a parent). Benefits include:
- early development of balance
- early development of rhythm
- increased attentiveness
- better listening skills
- new little friends
- early learning of the importance of movement and exercise. And good for you for modeling this!

Dress Code: Girls: Pink, Purple or Black leotard. Attached skirts are fine, but no tutus. Pink ballet slippers. For Boys: navy blue shorts and white t shirt. Ballet slippers. In the colder months, girls may wear leg warmers, convertible tights, and/or a ballet wrap sweater. Boys may wear long, black or navy athletic pants.
