Weekly Class Time: Saturdays June 8, 15, 29, July 13, 20, and August 3, 10, 17 from 11:00 AM – 12:15 PM
Cost: $12 per class for one participant when paying with credit card; $10 per class for one participant when paying with cash. To pay with credit card, please purchase tickets below. To pay with cash, please arrive to your desired class a few minutes early to pay.

*Multi-Class Passes:  5 classes for $50, 8 classes for $80, 10 classes for $100. *when paying cash

Class Description: These students discover dance as a means of self- expression, exploration, and community connection through creative experiences. Based in modern dance technique and improvisation, this class welcomes beginners of all ages and advanced students who are looking to rejuvenate their creative practices. Families are encouraged to take this class together. For ages 6-99 and baby-wearing caregivers.

Dress Code: Anything you can move in.  Leggings, sweat pants, t-shirts, and yoga tops are all great options.  We dance barefoot.

Location: Our new home for all of our classes is at the River Oaks School of Dancing in the Shepherd Square Shopping Center at the corner of Shepherd and Westheimer.

Frame Dance Creative Movement for Families: June Term

For parents and children Ages 2 – 5

Weekly Class Time: Every Saturday in June @ 9:30 – 10:15 AM

Session Cost: $20 per family, per class.

Teacher: Ashley Horn

Class Description: Parents and children will bond in this fun class that focuses on motor skill development, creativity, musicality, and coordination. Through dance and the use of props, little ones will explore space through movement, and begin to learn to take direction from a teacher (other than a parent).

Benefits include:

  • early development of balance
  • early development of rhythm
  • increased attentiveness
  • better listening skills
  • new little friends
  • early learning of the importance of movement and exercise. And good for you for modeling this!

Dress Code: Anything you can move in. We dance barefoot.

Location: Our new home for all of our classes is at the River Oaks School of Dancing in the Shepherd Square Shopping Center at the corner of Shepherd and Westheimer.

Class Description: Ballet for Junior Framers is built on a cohesive education ballet techniques, rehearsal, and performance.  Junior Framers hone their technique while continuing to grow creatively, collaborate with others, and learn ballet for performance.  Though this class focuses more intensely on technique, these students are encouraged to develop creatively, finding and articulating their own artistic voices.

Dress Code: Leggings and a form-fitted top or leotard and black tights.  Boys: form fitted t-shirt or tank top and cotton or stretchy pants/shorts. This class is taken with soft ballet slippers and in bare feet.  Hair must be pulled back, no loose jewelry.

Frame Dance Youth Ensemble – Fall 2019/Spring 2020

The Frame Dance Youth Ensemble provides students from 3.5 to 13 years old the opportunity to experience dance in a context that values the individual and the creative process. The program is dedicated to high-quality technical training within a non-competitive environment and offers access to masterclasses in costume design, photography, repertoire, anatomy, dance history, and yoga for the older students, by leading professionals. Our curriculum caters to each student’s strengths and is designed to encourage creative expression and a positive body image. The program exposes and connects students to Frame Dance’s professional company and the Multigenerational Framers, our community ensembleWe are a nurturing, adventurous, and dynamic setting for students who seek either sheer enjoyment or the more serious pursuit of becoming an advanced artist.  

Mini Framers

AGES 3.5-5

Class Description: This is your child’s first “big kid” dance class without a parent. This fun class focuses on motor skill development, creativity, musicality, independence, and coordination. Through dance and the use of props, little ones will explore space through movement, and experience new independence and creative choices. Benefits include:

  • early development of rhythm
  • increased attentiveness
  • better listening skills
  • new little friends
  • early learning of the importance of movement and exercise.

Class Description:  Little Framers (part of the Frame Dance Youth Ensemble) is built on a cohesive education of modern dance and ballet techniques, rehearsal, and performance. Little Framers hone their technique while continuing to grow creatively, collaborate with others, and learn choreography for performance.  Though this class focuses more intensely on technique, we encourage our students to develop creatively, and help them find and articulate their own artistic voices.

Dress Code: Leggings and a form-fitted top or leotard and black tights.  Boys: form fitted t-shirt or tank top and cotton or stretchy pants/shorts. This class is taken with soft ballet slippers and in bare feet.  Hair must be pulled back, no loose jewelry.

As with our Little Framers, this class focuses more intensely on technique, but these students are also encouraged to develop creatively, and to find and articulate their own artistic voices.

Dress Code: Leggings and a form-fitted top or leotard and black tights.  Boys: form fitted t-shirt or tank top and cotton or stretchy pants/shorts. This class is taken with soft ballet slippers and in bare feet.  Hair must be pulled back, no loose jewelry.

Location: Monday and Tuesday classes will be held at Yogaleena Yoga Studio. Saturday classes will be held at River Oaks School of Dancing.
